Rick's Powder Coating
What is powder coating and how is it different from paint?
Powder coating is a finishing method where dry powder is applied to metal using electrostatic techniques and then cured in a heated oven. Unlike conventional liquid paint, powder coating provides a thicker, more durable, and consistent finish that offers enhanced resistance to chipping, scratching, corrosion, and color fading over time. What types of items do you powder coat?
Rick's Powder Coating processes various metal items including automotive parts, wheels and rims, motorcycle components, race car parts, Side x Side (UTV) elements, agricultural equipment, patio furniture, ornamental iron, and industrial or manufacturing equipment.Do you offer automotive and restoration powder coating?
Yes, we specialize in automotive powder coating and restoration services, delivering durable finishes for classic cars, custom builds, restoration projects, and motorsports vehicles. Can you powder coat wheels and rims?

Powder coating utilizes a solvent-free dry mixture of plastic resins, pigments, and fillers that melt and bond when heated. The coating particles are electrostatically charged in a spray gun and transported by low-velocity air to the surface being coated. The electrostatic charge secures the powder particles while the component cures in a 400-degree oven. The heat initiates a chemical reaction, causing the powder to cure and form an exceptionally durable finish.
